Gigee Marie Muses: Metallic

The holidays are just around the corner, so that means a lot of metallics, sequins, and sparkle. I love metallics (especially gold and bronze) because I think they're a great neutral that can easily glam up an outfit. But metallics aren't just for going out and getting fancy. You can still rock metallics during the day without looking or feeling overdressed. For something a little more subtle, you can go with a metallic mani or a belt. Gigee Marie Muses: Precious Gems

With emerald being Pantone's color of 2013, I decided to center my Spring 2013 collection around jewel tones. A lot of times, jewel tones are seen in Fall collections, but I think that jewel tones are just as appropriate for Spring. They allow you to ease out of winter earthtones and prepare for colorful, bold Spring palettes. We recently saw Teyonah Parris and Mila Kunis rock bold amethyst and emerald gowns at the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes, and Eva Longoria werrrrrked this gold dress at the 2012 Alma Awards last September.

Gigee Marie Muses: Emerald City

Last month, Pantone announced that the color for 2013 is emerald. I'm generally an earth tone kind of girl so I like to look to green hues to add a hint of color to neutral palettes. We originally incorporated a similar green into our holiday collection with our Jade clutch (shown below) which is a great winter color. Check out other emerald/jade pieces that make for great additions to your wardobe.

Gigee Marie Muses: Camo

The Gigee Marie Muses feature will highlight various trends that have inspired my pieces. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you've probably already seen this one, but here is a look at the Camo trend that has inspired our popular Camo Clutch. I think what makes this Camo clutch unique is the fact that it mixes materials, a heavy cotton camo print with faux leather. It's also very in line with the mixed medium faux leather sleeve jackets that are popular right now.
